Dye or not to "Dye"

I am a grey head, is there really anyway to hide that fact, for more than the time it takes to grow back from a great dye job.

Yes, I can continue to color the dead strands that hang off my scalp, that everyone "Knows" the good Lord could have NEVER blessed me with (color).

In choosing not to dye my hair;
1-  I save money
and
2- I can dedicate time to more desireable activities

I belive not dying my hair is like the burning of the bras in the 70s. I want to be freed from the pressure of the dictation of, What beauty is".

Please send good wishes and blessings my way. I am trying to get Springville museum to accept my picture in their Religous Art Show.

Remember if you keep kicking the door, it will aventually open.

I have struggled with this same issue Ruby. my mother never dyed her hair, and I remember women in the grocery store one day discussing with each other whether or not my mothers hair was in fact a dye job, and how the hairdresser may have gotten it to look so good. I started highlighting my hair two years ago, because it was given to me as a gift, and it has become an addiction. Every time my appointment rolls around I always think, should I continue this, or just let the gray come, because it is coming. So I support you Ruby in this adventure. I think you will look beautiful no matter what color your hair is, and maybe it will inspire me to do the same.

Do not dye, because I need some company over here in Gray-hair ville. Every time I color my hair it doesn't look natural. Plus grey hair makes people look wise. and you can think of it as God's way of highlighting our hair--for free!

That said, do what you want. I think you can decide one way for now, and change your mind later. This is one of those decisions that doesn't have to be an absolute, you know?

I submitted to dddyyyee! Only because my son was in the State Cup in soccer.

I was even thinking of dying the roots blue to support their team the Blue Knights. But I quickly remembered how embaraced I was when my roots were blue from a bad dye job.

Thanks Hill, I appericate that you won't judge me, but support.

Susan, I can live without the "Wise Look", but I love the "Highlighting for free!" I am a bit of a cheapie.

I want to shine. Maybe my only chance will be with my bright white locks!

Hmmm, Lauren asked me a few months ago what I would do if my hair started turning grey. Mike, who was in the other room, answered before I could even process Lauren's question...."She'll dye it!" Guess I know HIS opinion now. ;) We've (mike & I) discussed it a few times since and I think I lean more towards not dying it. ??? Maybe its my stubborn independence speaking there? Either way, I don't see the grey in all these women I admire, I see beauty, wisdom, love and strength radiating...all those characteristics are far more powerful than outward looks.
